Major Events |
|
Mokwon students have several major events throughout the year. These
include Freshman Orientation, Foundation Day, Commencement Day, the
Great Festival of the University. Freshman Orientation and registration
begin in mid-February. Freshman Orientation activities include an
introduction to life at the University as well as special orientations
conducted by the departments of the University's colleges. The Foundation
Day ceremony is held at the beginning of May and various awards are
presented to outstanding school officials and professors who have
served Mokwon for 10 or 20 years. Commencement Day ceremonies are
held twice a year: at the end of August and again at the end of February.
The Festivals feature a number of events including performances, seminars,
special lectures and an open market.

General Student Council |

The General Student Council consists of Mokwon students. They are
a democratic self-governing body which represents the needs of the
students, provides them with services and promotes positive links
between the university and local communities, and with other universities.
The president and vice-president of the Student Council are elected
and they and other core members from each college are in charge
of major student events at Mokwon such as Freshman Orientation and
the Grand Festival of the University. The Council consists of eleven
departments: the department of general administration, finance,
planning, culture, athletics, welfare, facilities, advertisement,
and information.

|
University clubs offer students a chance to share a broad range
of religious, social, cultural, and scholastic interests. They include
the Christian Club, the Taekwondo club, the Traditional Korean Music
Club and more than 57 other clubs devoted to various fields.

The Mokwon chaplain system is an important part of the university
organization. The chaplain leads the daily chapel services and the
University Church. Every student is required to attend chapel services
once a week on a pass/fail system. Students are also required to
earn 3 credits in Christian studies during the course of their four-year
undergraduate study.
